The last time that I gave you a little tour of our family pegboard, it was packed with all the wonderful things that Autumn had to offer ... leaves, sticks, shells and pine cones. I ADORED that display as it mostly featured 'treasures' collected by my little dudes. As you can probably imagine, now we're in December and feeling oh so very festive, our board has shed its golden leaves and has become a touch sparklier and a whole lot more colourful. If you give it tap, it jingles too.
This month's display is mainly the vision of my four year old and let me tell you, he's a touch on the bossy side. I tried to make a couple of subtle tweaks to the board but he was having none of it. Apparently, there's no such thing as too many candy canes and hanging Christmas stockings on a fireplace is a very old fashioned thing to do. Everyone knows that they need to be hung on a pegboard now.
I did get my way with one thing though ... his stash of chocolate coins has been pegged up high out of reach so no sneaking them until December 17 (they're his advent treat on that day ... AND NOT BEFORE, no matter how much he tries to persuade me).
And here's a few more close ups. The Santa plate is my favourite. I love his big, round belly ... perfect for a large slice of cake.
Christmas through a child's eyes is obviously very, very red!
