The recent holidays have been a joy. A few tired, chocolate-fuelled tantrums aside, it's been such a relaxing break. We've not felt rushed or under pressure to be anywhere despite paying plenty of visits to family and friends and heading in to Chester for a couple of lunches. It's such a shame that it all comes to an end today when my husband heads back to work. I've almost forgotten what it's like to juggle the wants and needs of two little terrors on my own. I predict that today is going to be loooooong.
One of the most special moments of the holidays was heading out for a morning walk with just my eldest (one of one time with him is such a precious rarity at the moment). Up quite early and spotting a sprinkling of snow on the ground and the sun yet to rise, we decided to throw on our coats over our pyjamas and pop over to a nearby golf course to watch night turn to day. It was magical. Vapour trails like shooting stars and the sun, a firey glow on the horizon.
We stayed out for nearly an hour, my eldest dude toasty warm in his new sheepskin earmuffs from Natural Baby Shower. They're super soft, super warm and super comfortable meaning that even on the coldest of December mornings, his precious little ears were protected (protected way long enough to collect his usual quota of sticks, berries and pine cones - I think we have a city's worth outside of our front door). And then it was back home for hot drinks and an even more heated game of Dominos (best stocking filler ever for a numbers-loving four year old, if you're on the lookout for ideas for next year).
Natural Baby Shower kindly sent the earmuffs to us free of charge. We love them. If only they came in adult sizes! They retail at just £15.50 - I would rate them higher than a £45 UGG pair that I recently looked at buying for the boys - and are also available in pink.
