In nearly forty years on this earth, I've not once walked in to a store or browsed online and thought, 'Yes, I'll take everything, please'. In any range of clothing or homeware, there's always a few things that I love, a couple that I like, and a handful which I would simply walk on by without giving a second glance. Until now. Right now, I am astounded, as with the new Murmur range from designer homeware icons, Bedeck, it's almost as if someone has put together a collection especially for me. Every single item would fit seamlessly and stylishly in to my home. I absolutely adore it. All of it. It's the perfect blend of contemporary and rustic elements so feels very modern but also quite natural, with an almost hand-crafted touch.
The full Murmur range features ceramic tableware, glassware, kitchen textiles and accessories, bedlinen, towels, throws and cushions, basketware, stationery and home fragrance. Browsing through all of the individual items, you really can sense the thought and consideration that's been given to every single piece. There are no 'fillers' ... each items stands alone as well as complementing the rest of the collection. Made from natural materials such as wool, cotton, artisanal glass, acacia wood and seagrass, there's an honesty about the range. It's unfussy but oh so easy on the eye. It's perfection. It really, really is. I promise you.
With huge thanks to the amazing online interior design website, Houseology, who perfectly parcelled up a gorgeous selection of the tabletop textiles and acacia wood serving dish for me, my dining table has been transformed. Pre-children, we invested in a beautiful walnut and glass table that comfortably seats eight people (we had entertaining in mind rather than six children, before you ask) but I'd yet to find table mats and napkins that sit well with the wood and also work from a day to day point of view as well as when having friends round. But the Murmur triangle-print placemats and the chartreuse napkins with a geometric design are just the perfect partnership, both with each other and also with our much-loved dining table. The prints work well together and are strong yet subtle, and as such, appeal to our little ones as well as to us. The matching tea towels and oven gloves tie everything together and have really made a wonderful difference to our kitchen/living room/sitting room. I'm so happy with them all.
My family came round for an early dinner on Saturday, so I had reason to lay the full table. I took a few photographs for you to see how it all looks. Thinking ahead, with a touch more greenery and a few candles (and crackers, of course), I think the Murmur range would set the scene perfectly for Christmas dinner. A navy and gold theme for the festive season, perhaps. What do you think? And then, once full of delicious turkey and a whole box of After Eights, we could retire to the living room and watch Star Wars under the luxurious Murmur bud throw (on my Christmas list) before heading up to bed and falling asleep on the Murmur dash bed linen (also on my Christmas list).
I'm not kidding. The entire Murmur range is a winner. Do check it out.
Houseology kindly sent me a selection of kitchen textiles from the Murmur range for the purpose of the post. Never have I been so enamoured of a homeware collection. It's amazing.
