In a few days time, this little blog-baby of mine will reach its six months anniversary. Six whole months since I spent hours debating the exact shade of navy blue to use for the header. Six months since I sat at the kitchen table rubbing my eyes wondering whether anyone would really care if I pressed 'publish' or not. Six long months of tap-tapping away at my computer dreaming up even more decadent chocolate puddings and mini-renovation projects, this blog being a wonderful push to try new things and get others finally ticked off my to-do list. It's been six months of sharing little memories, huge realisations and more than a lifetime's worth of cups of tea and coffee. And I've totally and thoroughly enjoyed it.
For me, it's been a huge incentive to finally learn how my camera actually works. I have a long way to go but never in a million years would I have been able to take a photo like this a year ago.
And it's been a place to record memories that might otherwise get forgotten about. My favourite being the unexpected delight that came home with us on a pre-Christmas shopping trip.
Never mind the fact that we were chosen to be Mark Warner ski ambassadors and will be heading to France later this year for a snowy adventure. I still have to pinch myself about that one.
But one of the loveliest things is that people (other than my husband) actually take the time to read my posts and leave me the sweetest comments. This space is such a fun hobby - the writing, the countless pictures, learning about code, styling projects with wonderful ladies who are infinitely better at it than me but are so kind about my terrible efforts - and I'm beyond thrilled when someone reads a post and enjoys it. And maybe tries one of my calorific recipes or one of my simple craft projects. Or tells me that they too have children that rarely sleep and a bit of an obsession with tea cups. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I really appreciate your kind words, advice, and most importantly, tweets of encouragement when I've been up all night with two sick boys and Peppa Pig on repeat.
Last week, Atterley Road, the retailer and fashion brand behind the awesome #ARWOMAN campaign, asked if I'd like to select something from their website. I wonder if anyone ever says no to amazingly kind offers like this? After several hours browsing, I settled on the divine pair of sparkly pumps you see in the top photograph. I won't lie. It's love. But I also managed to sneak two gorgeous cross over bags in to my virtual shopping basket and these are destined for two of you lovelies as a huge THANK YOU for being so fabulous and stopping by my blog.
I have one grey and one black to give away (I'll ask the winner drawn first for their colour preference) and it's really simple to enter. All you need to do is leave me a comment telling me one random fact about yourself and then fill in the rafflecopter widget (name, email address and a quick tick in the box). The competition closes at midnight on Sunday March 1st and I can only post to UK addresses, sorry. Terms and conditions apply (detailed in the rafflecopter widget). If you have any questions, do ask. Thank you so much and good luck!
