It's my last monthly post of 2016 and I can't quite believe it. Time has flown, hasn't it? I blinked, slept for the occasional hour, did several million loads of washing and now we're almost at the end of the year. I'll sneeze and it'll be over, won't it?
Blogging-wise, I have a few more posts to share over the next two weeks and then I'm having a festive break for maybe three or four weeks. The After Eights, Advocaat and terrible TV are calling me and who am I to resist?!
I'm not sure what to do with these monthly posts in 2017. I enjoy writing and looking back on them but I'm thinking about switching them to the end of the month ... writing about what we've been up to rather than what we're planning to do. And then rather than take photos in the same stretch of woods, include different snapshots, you know, the random ones you take that don't tend to make it off your phone or camera.
What do you think?
Well, until I make up my mind, here's what I have planned for December:
I've written a fair few festive posts for the Great Little Trading Co. blog, Make a Happy Home, recently and have some more planned for December. We've also just launched a 'Real Rooms' feature so if there are any items of GLTC furniture which you'd like to see in a normal home, let me know!
On my own blog, I'm working on a post with Desenio and have just taken delivery of some gorgeous prints for it. I have something really cool, and a little bit different, planned for my littlest's room which I think you'll like. I'm planning to share it before I bid you adieu for the holidays.
I've just bought a copy of 91 Magazine, an independent lifestyle magazine. I'm hoping to find an hour or two to flick through it this week. Although, looking at my diary, I only have time between 3.27 am and 4.03 am. It's chaos around here!
After a trip to Manchester, I have three new things to wear. A blue and white striped top from Mint Velvet - the split on the sleeves makes it that little bit more interesting than a standard Breton stripe. And the Lulu dress from Whistles - it's not my usual style but my mum made me try it on for her and I liked it so much that I bought it for myself (she got the black version). And the most gorgeous pair of Hudson boots which I picked up for half price on Black Friday. They are amazing and a total bargain.
Cocktails! I'm going to be drinking lots and lots of cocktails. I have plans to turn this organiser in to a bar cart for the Christmas holidays. If it works out well, I'll blog about it.
It's December so I guess it would be easier to talk about what I'm not going to eat. I have a couple of meals out scheduled, various dinners, a brunch, lots of cake dates, and an extra special breakfast with Father Christmas. So much to look forward to!
Other than a complete mess of our house with the boys finishing school on December 16, we're going to make our own Christmas crackers, this year. I've also promised my mum that we'll make nameplates for the dining table for Christmas Day, and also some kind of chocolatey pudding for those that don't like Christmas pudding. Any recipe suggestions?
I'm booked myself on a wreath making course and I'm really looking forward to it. It will be lovely to hang my own creation on the door rather than a bought one. Fingers crossed it's not too much of a wonky eyesore for the neighbours.
We're going on our annual family trip to Erddig, but this time accompanied by the Mini Travellers team. It's wonderful at Erddig whatever team of year you visit, but December is particularly special.
So that's my December. What exciting things have you got planned?
