Well, I'm claiming spring fever as a genuine illness. One which I have absolutely, head over heels, fallen victim to. The first glimpse of beams and blooms and I woke up convinced that no surface in our home should remain untouched by my paintbrush. If you see a dazed, thirty-something (only five months left of being a thirty-something so please humour me if I keep dropping that in to conversation ... I'm trying to get maximum mileage out of it before the clock ticks to a new decade) wondering around North Wales with a paint-streaked top knot and crumpled clothes ... that's likely to be me.
With pretty much every room in complete disarray (I mean why finish painting one room before starting another, right?!), I had to manufacture a surface to style, this month. But it was so much fun! And actually encouraged me to try something a little bit different rather than simply arranging things on my sideboard. Painted tongue and groove and sprinkles wallpaper from Great Little Trading Co. to the rescue! And there's a sneak peek behind the scenes over on Instagram, if you want a little look at the reality behind this month's photos.
Powder blue skies, a pastel yellow sun, blush pink flowers, and fluffy white lambs ... I basically like my March to resemble a packet of mini eggs (of which I eat far too many). In the run up to the Easter holidays, with family and friends soon to be off school and work, it's time to practice my baking ... time to perfect the ultimate cupcake (with lots of sprinkles, obviously) ... and time to sit and catch up over lots of cups of tea.
So, this month's styling the seasons is dedicated to the start of spring, sugary treats and the sun streaming through the window and lighting up the pages of my cook book. And to family, friends and flowers brightening up my day.
The cute, little milkmaid stool is part of a set of two from GLTC, sent to me as part of my role on their testing team. The boys are currently using them as bedside tables but they're amazingly versatile, as you can see. And, really, way too nice to be hidden away in a bedroom.
