I'm quite picky with what I have in my home, but when it comes to big purchases, my finickiness knows no bounds. I have a tendency to dither other what other people might consider to be rather inconsequential details. Case in point, sofa legs. I can spy an insanely beautiful sofa in the most incredible colour and with the softest fabric but if the legs aren't quite right, it's with a shrug of my shoulders that I'll walk away. What can I say? I'm a bit strange, yes.
In the next year or two, we'll need to replace the two sofas in the sitting area at the far end of our open plan kitchen/family room. We bought them three years ago and, other than our beds, they're probably the most used pieces of furniture in our whole house. Subsequently, they're also the grubbiest pieces of furniture in our whole house. Bought when the boys were one and three, you'll understand why. We're almost at the end of the drink-spilling and food-wiping stage so I've tentatively started imaginary shopping for their replacements.
There are eight designs to choose from and over seventy luxurious Designers Guild fabric options (you can order up to six fabric samples for free to help you narrow down your selection). But music to my ears? Eleven different feet finishes to choose from. Eleven! Prices start from an affordable £545, which is incredible considering that you're pretty much getting a sofa unique to you - each one is handmade to order and will be delivered to your door in 8 - 10 weeks.
See anything you like?
Of course, I've spent a fair few hours configuring my perfect sofa. The Houseology website is so easy to navigate and you can see your chosen design and specification in seconds, and from different angles, too.
Why not have a play around and let me know what your perfect sofa would look like.
