I first became aware of Danish brand, Søstrene Grene, a couple of years ago when a friend shared some gorgeous trinkets she'd bought. The speed at which I hopped online to see if I could find them was breakneck. But, oh no! You can only buy Søstrene Grene's lovely products - homeware, stationery, craft supplies, small toys - online. The crushing disappointment!
If you don't have one near you, fear not, I'm not so cruel as to write a post about super cute things that you can't get hold of. Yes, I'm going to tell you a bit more about why I love Søstrene Grene but I've also selected a few favourites to giveaway, so keep on reading.
For someone like me who likes to know what the latest trends are in interiors but doesn't necessarily want to jump on board and adopt them, Søstrene Grene fills a little gap on the high street. That's the gap between the stores offering timeless quality and the ones that rush to get the latest 'must have' items out before we all decide that they're no longer Instagram-worthy. The products are really thoughtful ... traditional but also modern at the same time.
With new stock arriving every week, the Søstrene Grene shops are like little treasure troves. You never quite know what gem you're going to find. I recently popped in to the Chester store and picked up this terrazzo coaster/mini chopping board - terrazzo is a huge trend at the moment and I love this small nod to it. The best bit? While I've seen similar pieces priced at £20 and over, this cost just £4.66. And it's beautiful. There's zero hint of a flimsy, rushed-to-the-market-while-the-trend-is-hot feel.
And the stationery? If you're a lover of pens, paper and notepads, you'll be in heaven. Planners, calendars, dairies ... all gorgeous, and all seemingly under £5 when I was last there. The most difficult thing is to hold yourself back from buying everything that you want as opposed to just the items that you need. It's hard. Really hard.
And that's why I snuck these extra treats in to my basket and decided to run an 'end of 2017/start of 2018' giveaway with them. It's also a way to say THANK YOU to all of you who read my blog, leave lovely comments, and basically enable me to keep everything going without me feeling like I'm talking to myself.
This blog is one of things that makes up my part-time job and while I'd still write even if no one read it, the fact that you do keep popping back means that I'm able to earn from it as well. It's something that I hugely appreciate.
If you'd like to enter, all you need to do is input your details in to the rafflecopter widget below and leave me a comment telling me your favourite place to shop for cute home accessories. I'll randomly select the winner on January 1st and get everything in post asap in the new year.
Good luck! And, Søstrene Grene has such nice DIY and craft ideas, too ... go take a look!
All that remains is for me to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you have an amazing holiday. I'm logging off now to enjoy the festive season with my kiddos and also to start planning for our house move early in 2018. It's going to be a very busy start to the year. Have fun!
