My favourite finds: When toy storage doubles up as a super cute breakfast in bed tray

When toy storage doubles up as a super cute breakfast in bed tray

When I first spotted the stacking storage tray in the Great Little Trading Co. catalogue, I thought 'nope'. Not that I had any objection to it aesthetically. It was its purpose that I couldn't quite get my head around. A dinky little tray? With cute compartments? For toys? Not on my watch! If ever there was a more perfectly formed tray for breakfast in bed with two rowdy, fidgety, little boys inevitably tucked up next to me, it's most definitely this one. Sorry, toys. You'll have to find somewhere else to house yourselves. This tray is taken.

With three separate sections and high sides, you need not fear juice all over your bed linen or tea stains on your pillow. It keeps cups and glasses neat and steady. The larger section might not fit a full size plate, but you can pop a piece of toast or two in there and a small bowl of fruit. And let's face it, do your children really give you time and space enough to eat and drink any more than that? Not mine, anyway.

You all know that I'm a huge fan of versatile furniture and storage, and I've listed trays as my top purchase for the home. Buy this super cute tray for your children's toys or buy it for your infrequent leisurely breakfasts in bed. Or maybe buy two! Any way, I think you'll love it and get a lot of use out of it. It can be yours for £22 and it's really solid. Definitely not a flaky buy; it's a sturdy tray that will see you through many years.

What do you think? Do you ever get time for breakfast in bed? Or are you someone that fears toast crumbs ground in to sheets? What would be your perfect morning meal? Let me know!
