Welcome to the next in my series of how to justify your random purchases to your husband. Two posts in, can I really call it a series? Let's go with it. I'm sure there'll be many more to come. Well, I know there'll be many more to come. I just can't help myself.
I initially popped in to my local Matalan store to pick up a few bottles of their vanilla room diffuser. At two for £6, they're the best quality AND the best price that I've come across. It's worth stocking up.
Anyway, we all know that even if you head in to a shop to buy only one item, you can't leave without browsing at least ALL the shelves and rails. Maybe not the clothes, but definitely the homeware ones.
Ambling around the kitchen section, I spotted a ceramic popcorn bowl. Admittedly, such a thing has never appeared on my shopping list, not even at the bottom. But it was so nice. The perfect little pot. And with gorgeous details for a mere £3.
I'm absolutely shocking when I see something cute. My initial reaction is to fill my basket with it. Or buy at least two or three. If I love it, I need many of it. However, I resisted and bought only one.
So here's how I've been using (or pretending to use in order to convince Paul of it's practicality and worthiness of being purchased) my ceramic popcorn bowl around the home.
To keep our remote controls tidy
As a 'keep your hands off' pot in the bathroom
As a vase for my beautiful roses
And as popcorn bowl, obviously!
What do you think?! It's so incredibly useful, isn't it?! I'm sure you need one in your life, too!!
As I type this, I have a couple of other items on their way to me from Matalan. A swoon worthy geometric jacquard cushion with TASSELS ... at snip at £8. And two super cute metal baskets for my next project ... a home office makeover. If you fancy either and are looking to justify a purchase, I'm more than happy to get my thinking cap on for a million ways in which you could use them. Let me know!
