I love the belly baskets which can be found in pretty much every online and high street interiors shop, at the moment. With their round middles and cute floppy handles, they're quite simply adorable.
And so useful. Hide a blanket or two in them, magazines perhaps, or even ugly remote controls or your knitting needles and wool.
I've spotted painted versions, embroidered versions, and my personal favourite, sequinned versions. There's definitely a style to suit everyone and every home.
However, the thing that I love most about them, their gorgeously floppy shape, is also the thing that annoys me the most about them, too.
It means that they're not particularly neat or structured and if you attempt to pick them up with more than a handful of things in them, they bow at the bottom and feel close to breaking.
And that's not ideal when you have two little boys who like to throw in all manner of cars, Lego, costumes and marbles and lug them from room to room.
So the two belly baskets that I own now sit sweetly either side of my bed and in the rest of the house? We use these ridiculously ravishing rope storage baskets from Great Little Trading Co.
They were meant to be with me on a temporary basis so I could photograph them for the GLTC blog. But I refused to send them back.
Look at them. They're brilliant!
They're made from woven cotton rope which makes them both soft AND strong. They're ideal for storing the stock for the Lego shop that I assume my boys are gathering ALL the bricks in the world for (when it's opening, I don't know, but from the sheer amount they have, I assume it's soon). Popped neatly in to our cube storage unit, you'd never guess the plastic horrors that they contain, would you?
This month, GLTC have added to the already gorgeous range. You can see them all here and in the photo below, but new for 2018 are the ivory and dark grey, ivory and grey, and ivory and natural baskets.
It's incredibly hard to choose a favourite ... I'll inevitably end up ordering all three for our new home!
I love the baskets in their natural state but I recently customised two with pom poms ... one for my son's bedroom and one for the living room.
It was so easy to do (there's a full tutorial on the GLTC blog) and adds a really fun element to them. I mean, who can resist a colourful pom pom?
I might snip them off after a while but for now? They're here to stay.
What do you think?
Because they're awesome, GLTC have kindly offered to send either two small rope storage baskets or one large one to one of my wonderful readers. If you're randomly selected, you can chose which you'd prefer.
All you need to do to enter, is follow the instructions in the rafflecopter widget below.
It's super easy, I promise you.
