It's a hammock life for us

After spending a small fortune on all of the weird and wonderful costs associated with moving house and then buying a million and seventeen tester pots only to paint the living room white, a far flung family holiday is just not on the cards for us this year.

Maybe a night or two in the Lakes (I've always wanted to stay at The Drunken Duck Inn, and Another Place is now on my 'must visit' list after staying at its sister hotel Watergate Bay a couple of months ago) but we have no more budget than that - my need of a new bathroom is far greater than the want to pack a suitcase and lie by a sunny pool.

So, a holiday in our very own back garden, it is! And to be honest, I'm not overly disappointed about that. Pottering, planting, pizza making, playing, lazing and lying back in the hammock listening to audio books. Throw in a freezer filled with ice lollies and a well stocked home bar and I think we'll do just fine.

We had a practise run this weekend and I ambled around and took some snapshots (I'm terrible at remembering to do this but always so happy to have the memories captured when I do). Thankfully, the weather played ball - as did the boys popping out for the final rugby match of the season - and it really was the nicest way to spend a couple of days. So here's to spending the forthcoming half term and six week summer holiday a few steps from our front door.

It's definitely a hammock life for us!
