The boy who loved (luggage)

Children's dinosaur backpack

The scar on his t-shirt might highlight his fondness for Harry Potter, but he’s not the boy who lived, he’s the boy who loved (or loves) … luggage.

Yep, luggage.

Really.

Luggage.

In any way, shape or form - a bag, a case, a trunk - he’s not fussy; he’s incredibly fond of them all.

That said, his preference is most definitely for a backpack. They’re great for snacks, for spy missions, for secreting away your brother’s stolen Pokemon cards, for indoor camping adventures and for outdoor autumn foraging.

Fill it with leaves, sticks, acorns, conkers, and the odd clump of mud (thank heavens, his new one is made from wipe-clean oilcloth) pop it on your back, and amble along continuing to enjoy the crisp September air … and pulling faces at your mama while she’s trying to snap a nice photo of you for the family album.

’Give me your best smile’.

You can see the results of that request below.

Needless to say, it’s not what I had in mind. But I love that little cheeky look so much more than his forced camera grimace. It’s him to a T.

If you’ve also got an adventurer with an affection for luggage, check out the brand new dinosaur backpack from my favourite, Great Little Trading Co. It makes me want to be five again. Or perhaps I could persuade GLTC to make me a grown up version?
