I haven't written a 'my favourite finds' post for ages. I think I've been so focused on the house as a whole and what needs to be done in each and every room that I've forgotten to share the little things. And those little things ... or little finds ... tend to be the things that you like to read about, and subsequently buy, the most. So, apologies. The series is back.
If you're new to The Ordinary Lovely, these are posts where I share something small and lovely (and mostly purse-friendly) that I've welcomed in to my home, and that I think you'd be rather fond of too. I really like beauty products, have a bit of an addiction to tan leather bags, spend a touch too much on haircare but it's things for the home that bring out my inner magpie. And I know that there are so many of you out there who are just like me and can't resist an interiors purchase to perk up your day. We all have our vices, right?
I stumbled across this gem when I was being all fancy on a shoot styling a Christmas tree for Homebase and Style at Home magazine - the Christmas edition out in November. I'll remind you, fear not ... but here's a sneak peek taken on my phone. Yes, those eye lashes are completely false.
In the corner of the shot, you can just about see the top of a little stool. And while I loved the ombre tree and homespun Scandi-style Christmas decorations, it was that little industrial-style stool that I would have quite happily snuck home with me on the day. With a dark metal frame and wooden seat, it's the perfect combination and unlikely to date. The best part (and I was truly gobsmacked when I heard this) is that it's only £10. Yes, £10. So you won't be surprised to hear that I bought two.
You know when you can see so many uses for something. I mean, it's a great stool but it's also a fab side table and a pretty brilliant bedside table, too. It's one of those products that not only looks good, it works. In every room. Even next to the bath for your drink and a book.
Here's how I've been using the stool in my home.
As a side table ...
And to sit on at my writing desk ...
If you'd like one (or two) for yourself, the stool isn't available to buy online, sorry, but you can reserve one to be collected at your local store. It also comes with a white frame and there's a taller version for just £14. Let me know if you buy one. And share a photo of it in your home, too. I'd love to see it.
