The beautiful world of Mister Berwyn

The beautiful world of Mister Berwyn

Despite having an unhealthy obsession with interiors magazines and scrolling through pretty pictures of other people’s homes on Instagram, I’m not really a person who covets.

I love looking at kitchens flooded with natural light even though ours has virtually none, I sigh happily at the sight of pristine bathrooms with decadent rainforest showers despite having been planning to do ours up since this time last year and making no more progress than a Pinterest board and I’m only ever so slightly green-eyed when confronted with a walk in pantry with every jar beautifully labelled whereas ours is home to a vacuum cleaner and a couple of spider webs.

Magazines and social media rarely tempt me to buy anything and only now and again do they make me feel compelled to pick up the pace with our home renovations … and then quickly put the paint brush back down again when I find something better to do.

But a few months ago, that all changed. I stumbled across the beautiful world of Mister Berwyn and fell hook, line and sinker. Citing a love of colour, nature and interiors as the inspiration behind her beautiful collection of ceramics and seriously cute home accessories, I was always going to fall for Amy’s designs. It was inevitable.

It was the fox and rabbits teacup and saucer (made from Cornish clay) that first caught my attention on Instagram. I bookmarked it, obviously. Then came the matching fox and rabbits teapot. Added to my Christmas list, of course. And it would make sense for the fox and rabbits notebooks to join them, wouldn’t it? Brew the tea, drink the tea, write important musings while brewing and drinking the tea, right?

But before I had chance treat myself to these favourites of mine, out of the blue, Amy got in touch to ask if she could send me something to feature on my Instagram account. How incredibly kind. I dithered over the placements and coasters because I knew my boys would love the charming characters, and found it hard to resist the colourful storage baskets. But in the end I went back to my first love, that stunning teacup and saucer.

Just look at it. It’s irresistible. A cheeky-looking fox hidden within the cup, a seriously cute rabbit on the saucer, and hand-gilded with gold for maximum impact. It’s truly special and I intend to treasure it. Honestly, if you’re looking for a gift that will bring happiness in to someone’s home, this is it. But I think any Mister Berwyn product would be most gratefully received, don’t you?
