I've had this post sitting in my drafts folder since the beginning of July and it now feels so long ago since we were in Italy that it could almost be last year rather than last month. With twelve of us flying over to Naples and then catching the boat to Capri, the fun started at check-in, and the excitement meant that the boys were wild from the get-go. Despite me perfecting the ability to convey a stern message of 'will you please calm down' through a tilt of the head and an unblinking stare before the flight had even left Manchester, it ended up being both a fun and relaxing holiday. Throw in daily ice creams and a trip to Sorrento to indulge in a bit of handbag shopping, and I'd say it was a very successful week. And we all know that that's no mean feat when travelling with a three and a five year old!
Oh my, it has been the oddest few days. Back from a brilliant holiday in Capri only to end up sick and in bed mere hours after landing in Manchester (those pesky aeroplane germs!!). I'm not all that great at leaving suitcases unpacked and the house in chaos but I had to as I couldn't get up for more than a few minutes at a time. I didn't make the BritMumsLive blogging conference in London over the weekend which was crushingly disappointing but not so much as witnessing a certain vote swing in a direction opposite to what I'd hoped and believed (it won't come as a surprise that with many close family and friends abroad and having lived and worked outside of the UK, I'm massively pro-Europe and the EU).
