DIY origami crane mobile (aka finding a use for one of the many sticks in my house)

Do you know the saying, 'see a penny pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck'? Well, I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the way, my boys have got their wires crossed and think that a penny = a stick. A quick peek outside my front door and you're greeted by a whole tree's worth. So, for quite a while now, I've been on a mission to find ways to use them up around the home. This DIY origami crane mobile, which used one of the biggest sticks from their collection, was so simple to make and looks great suspended from the ceiling (in my living room .... but would work really, really well in a child's bedroom too).

If you read my recent bathroom makeover post, you might remember that I've been working on a little project with Laura Ashley all to do with wallpaper. Today, the post is live on their blog and you can pop on over and see what I've been up to. Hint: it's not papering walls. I tried that and it ended in complete and utter disaster (luckily, I have an expert popping round next week to put right what I completely messed up - I'll share some photos when it's all finished and looking lovely).
