Despite writing about lots of lovely things for the home, I’m not actually a massive shopper. Bigger items, I buy with the intention of them lasting almost forever. Smaller, more decorative accessories, while I might pick them up a little more frequently, I still expect them to be more than a passing trend and to have, if possible, multiple uses.
One minute I was wondering whether my little baby would ever sleep through the night and the next he’s moving in to a mid sleeper children’s bed. How on earth did that happen? From a tiny dot to a six year old in what seems like mere months. Although, the dark circles under my eyes tell the true story. Those six years have not been kind.
I love the belly baskets which can be found in pretty much every online and high street interiors shop, at the moment. With their round middles and cute floppy handles, they're quite simply adorable.
And so useful. Hide a blanket or two in them, magazines perhaps, or even ugly remote controls or your knitting needles and wool.
I've spotted painted versions, embroidered versions, and my personal favourite, sequinned versions (check out these from Rose & Grey). There's definitely a style to suit everyone and every home.
