So, the time has come. For a break. Yes, this is my last post for 2018. And it’s also my last post before I start something new. When I started this blog back in 2014, it was without much of a plan or an intended direction. It was simply a way to keep writing, to keep learning, and to keep my brain ticking over until the boys started school and I could possibly think about returning to work.
Having spent the weekend in Manchester (without the children) to celebrate Paul's birthday, there are four things that I know to be true:
Few things are better than live music.
Very little is better than live music on a warm summer's night.
Virtually nothing is better than live music on a warm summer's night, drinking cold beers.
Absolutely nothing is better than live music on a warm summer's night, drinking cold beers when you don't have to get up in the morning.
Up until I received this gorgeous VQ Hepburn Mk II DAB radio, I think the main sound of this summer has been the pitter patter of raindrops against the window. I don't think I've ever known our raincoats to get such a good airing in August. Still, we've managed to get out and about even if we were the only ones silly enough to shiver on Llanfairfechan beach last week. My three year old asked, 'Why are we here?', and due to the onset of frostbite, my brain temporarily ceased functioning and try though I might, I actually had no response other than, 'Uh?'. A joyous parenting moment, I think we can all agree.
