Despite having an unhealthy obsession with interiors magazines and scrolling through pretty pictures of other people’s homes on Instagram, I’m not really a person who covets.
Two things guaranteed to fill both my home and my heart with joy are gorgeous vases from M&S (I treated myself to the pretty pink apothecary vase a few months ago and it’s been all over my instagram account since) and receiving, or buying myself, beautiful flowers.
For someone who traditionally loves autumn, it’s taken me a long time to get onboard with it this year. Surprisingly, I miss the warmth that requires me to cover my pale, freckled skin in gloopy clothes-ruining factor 50. Most unusual. But, over the past few weeks, the fire has been lit, blankets have been draped over even more surfaces, and slippers have become an essential. I’ve even started stocking up on air drying clay for Christmas crafts with the boys. I guess the heady days - and outdoor cinema nights - of August are well and truly a thing of the past.
