When Reeves sent me the most amazing starter kit to unleash my colourful creativity for their latest Instagram campaign (search the #wearereeves hashtag), it was at the very start of the summer holidays so I wanted to do something that the boys could get involved with too. You'd be forgiven for thinking that a putting together a home mini bar isn't the most child-friendly acitvity. However, I bed to differ. Making party accessories, drawing and writing up recipe cards, and mixing alcohol-free fizzy drinks? That's complete and utter joy for a four and six year old!
Two other potential titles for this post were, 'I can't get no sleep', and 'Reasons to buy yet another pegboard'. I'm kind of marrying them both together, throwing a touch of pretty in to the mix and wrapping them all up in red twine. If none of that makes any sense, I'm blaming it on the fact that my boys don't sleep, so I don't sleep, so we are one sleep-deprived, slightly crazed house, at the moment. Well, I say 'at the moment' but this has been going on since Christmas. Did I mention that I can't get no sleep? I seem to be suffering from permanent jet lag but without the bonus of a relaxing holiday. Yawn!
I know that grey interiors continue to be incredibly popular but I really wish that Mother Nature wasn't quite so keen on the colour. The weather is so dreary and drizzly, at the moment, isn't it? But every now and again, the cloud clears, the sky becomes that teeny bit brighter, and we get to experience fleeting moments of sunshine that have us opening our eyes a little bit wider and our minds daring to dream of spring days. Days where we can head out of the door without wearing a million layers and perhaps, even stay outside for longer than five minutes without worrying about the tips of our noses freezing.
